Comparing respondent groups

You can create different user segments based, for example, on the team information, city or answering date. Answers from different user segments can be analyzed on their own or compared with other user segments.

Any information you have brought into Zeffi as contact background information or asked from the respondents in the survey can be used to filter the analysis view. Head to your survey and open the Analysis tab. From here find the information you want to compare respondents based. this can be teams they belong to, cities they live in, when they have answered the survey, or whatever other options you might have.

Comparing respondents
First select the data you want to analyze your results by and find the relevant graph, then make a selection in the graph. A bar will appear at the top of the view where you can either crop your report to show only the results of the selected respondents or add them to comparison as a group. In the picture I've selected respondents who work in HR and still need to click Add to comparison at the top.
Here HR and Sales respondents have been added to the comparison groups. You can see this on the right side under "Compare respondents". There are two groups: HR with 36 respondents and Sales with 22 respondents. I can hover over the name of a group to reveal a quill pen which allows me to edit the colour and name of this group. Hovering also reveals a trash can that can be used to delete the group.
When I want to active the comparison I can either click on individual groups in the Compare respondents menu or I can activate the slider next to the Compare respondents text. The slider adds all groups into the comparison. Below I've activated the slider. Responses from HR are in blue, Sales in orange. Looking at the NPS question we can see that people from Sales have rated us slightly better despite both groups giving excellent reviews!

Sometimes it is useful to combine the comparison groups into one graph. For example comparing the 2D slider question is very awkward in separate charts:

We can combine these by clicking on the three dots menu of this analysis card and selecting Edit.

From here we can edit the chart types and comparison format. Let's select Joined tables now (the other option in Comparison format). Then click ok.

Now we can see both groups results in the same graph which makes comparison much easier. I've also activated Intelligent Zoom at the top to better highlight differences and make the graph clearer.

Happy comparing!
